During Summer and Winter seasons, Epic Games staff take a holiday break, so there is usually a 4-week gap between major updates, but content updates can still happen. A week prior, the update is put in staging servers, where Epic Games privately test the update and fix any bugs prior to release. Content Updates and Hotfixes are released when there are no major updates. Major updates are usually released every two weeks, on a Tuesday.
